Introduction to Engineering at Notre Dame 
Introduction to Engineering program offers high school students with strong academic backgrounds and an interest in engineering the opportunity to further explore potential career paths in engineering. During the two-week program, students can experience a taste of college life, staying in Notre Dame campus housing while attending lectures with Notre Dame faculty members on aerospace, mechanical, civil, computer, electrical, and chemical engineering in addition to hands-on laboratory activities, field trips, and engineering design projects.

University of Kansas Summer Engineering Camp
The School of Engineering offers a five-day intensive learning camp where rising 9th-12th graders receive a hands-on introduction to engineering principles and the various career opportunities within the field of engineering. Campers follow a curriculum specific to their individual area of interest, such as computer science, aerospace, mechanical, chemical, civil/architectural, or electrical engineering, building their problem-solving skills by working together with fellow students and faculty to find solutions to real-world engineering design problems. Participants also have the opportunity to visit local engineering facilities to see different kinds of engineers at work.

Environmental Health Sciences Summer Research Academy
Tulane University’s accepts 11th and 12th graders to participate in a summer research academy which is focused on environmental health issues in the region of Southeast Louisiana.Students are mainly recruited from local areas including: Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, and Jefferson parish public/charter/magnet high schools.The program is funded as a result of the BP medical settlement, GRHOP.

Offers a number of summer programs for high school students to explore the various disciplines of engineering. This program for high school juniors and seniors is a one-week immersion in the university’s engineering program, including tours, lectures, laboratory work, demonstrations and team projects designed to help students develop their math, science and engineering skills and decide if engineering is right for them.

Harvard’s Pre-College Program & Secondary School Program (SSP)
If you’re wondering what college is like, Harvard offers college programs just for high school students who are curious. Harvard’s high school programs allow you to take real courses along with college students and actually earn college credit.
You’ll be able to learn about subjects they don’t teach within your high school curriculum, study with Harvard faculty, have use of Harvard labs and other state-of-the-art libraries and equipment.While you’re there, you’ll meet other students from around the work, attend college prep events and participate in fun and exciting activities.

MIT offers this enrichment program for high school juniors interested in engineering, science and entrepreneurship. Students select five of 14 rigorous academic courses to study over the six weeks of the program, during which time they have several opportunities to network with a diverse group of individuals within the fields of science and engineering. University of Michigan Summer Engineering Academy
This program has three levels of summer commuter sessions in engineering. The Summer Enrichment Program for rising eighth and ninth graders is a two-week camp designed to expand upon middle-school level math and science concepts, applying them to the basic principles of engineering. For rising tenth and eleventh graders, UMich offers the Michigan Introduction to Technology and Engineering, offering classes in technical communications, engineering math, professional development and engineering concepts culminating in an engineering-based project. The Summer Engineering Academy’s Summer College Engineering Exposure Program for rising twelfth graders incorporates more advanced lessons on those same engineering topics with a team interdisciplinary engineering design project as well as enhancing the students’ experience with tours and presentations on the university’s engineering programs, opportunities to build their college portfolios, and an optional ACT preparatory course.

Girls Who Code, a leading national non-profit with the mission to close the gender gap in technology, opens its Summer Immersion Program application in mid-January. WHO:  10th and 11th grade girls who have not taken AP Computer Science are eligible to apply, no computer science experience required. WHAT:  the Summer Immersion Program is a free 7-week full time program. For more information email

Kean University 
The Group Summer Scholars Research Program (GSSRP) is a 6-week, hands-on research experience aimed at attracting and developing talented students who are interested in pursuing an education in a STEM field.  Upon entering the program students are divided into small research teams that are paired with a faculty mentor conducting authentic scientific research in Analytical Chemistry, Virtual Reality & Scientific Visualization, Microbiomes & Bioinformatics, Cancer Biology, Computational Mathematics and Modern Drug Discovery.  Students learn how to conduct basic and applied research during this program and develop a true appreciation of the scientific research process while contributing first hand to the acquisition of new scientific knowledge.

Rutgers Summer Business Camp
Rutgers Business Camp will provide high school students an opportunity to learn the basics of business. Students will form business teams which will become partnerships in creating proposed new business ventures. They will develop business plans with their new partners and present those plans in a business plan competition. Integrated into this experience will be visits to various corporate/business sites, speakers, and lessons on beginning to identify potential college majors and career paths. There will be visits to business locations to provide the students with a first-hand exposure to how business is conducted. Sample sites may include AT&T, Johnson & Johnson, and Hershey.

Duke University’s TIP Academy for Summer Studies
Duke University’s TIP Academy for Summer Studies provides students with an academic and social experience so that they are able to experience both challenging coursework and build lasting friendships with other academically gifted students.The program is available to the top five percent of students within a grade level and all courses were developed with gifted students in mind. Only students within grades 7-10 are eligible for the academy.The summer studies take place at various sites including Rice University, University of Georgia, Wake Forest University and Duke University.
